WHO ARE “THE FONIX”
The Fonix are characters who have evolved from the phonetic symbols used to describe the English language. If you have a look at an English phonemic chart, you should be able to see the resemblance.

For example there are:
![]() which is the consonant at the beginning of ‘think’ |
![]() which is the vowel sound in ‘book’ |
So the Fonix are fictional characters that look like the symbols for sounds. They are loud, lively and intrepid creatures and they get on really well with teenagers. Which is one of the reasons they’re called THE FONIX – it’s how PHONICS would be probably be written in a SMS text message.
We hope you like them!
